Professor Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Ohl holds the Chair of Autonomous Systems and Autonomous Driving at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Wolfenbüttel within the Faculty of Electrical and Information Engineering since winter semester 2021/2022. This position is part of the digitalization program of the state of Lower Saxony.
His research focuses on autonomous driving systems, sensor data fusion, and automotive software engineering. Professor Ohl leads practical implementations of autonomous vehicle technologies through significant research projects including the Real-world laboratory for autonomous bus transport and the Autonomous application platform for mobile small-scale transport (AMK).
Professor Ohl actively participates in interdisciplinary initiatives:
- Center for Energy and Mobility (CEO) - serving as spokesperson for the board
- Center for Digital Technologies
- Joint doctoral program 'Digital Transformation to a Sustainable Society' with TU Clausthal
His teaching portfolio spans Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Autonomous Driving, Autonomous Systems, Engineering Informatics 3 (Python), and Control Units and Bus Systems in Automobiles. He supervises student projects and theses with emphasis on original contributions in autonomous systems research.
