Sebastian Mühlbauer

Sebastian Mühlbauer is a senior staff scientist at the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Zentrum (MLZ) in Garching, Germany, specializing in neutron scattering techniques. He is affiliated with the New Materials WG 1 under the Functional Magnetic Materials theme as a LINXS Fellow.

Research Interests:

• Studies superconducting vortices, long-range incommensurate magnetic structures, and skyrmion lattices using neutron diffraction, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), and ultra-small-angle neutron scattering (USANS).
• Expertise in dynamic neutron techniques like stroboscopic SANS, TISANE, neutron spin echo, and spectroscopy for analyzing material dynamics across timescales from seconds to milliseconds.
• Focuses on multi-length-scale characterization, bridging atomic to micrometer regimes.
