Sebastian K. Rüth

Sebastian K. Rüth is a Professor of Economics at the University of Erfurt, holding the Chair of International and Monetary Macroeconomics within the Faculty of Economics, Law and Social Sciences. His research focuses on international macroeconomics, commodity and foreign exchange markets, and time-series econometrics. He currently leads the German Research Foundation (DFG)-funded project "The Macroeconomic Challenges of Swings in Global Food Commodity Prices" (Project No. 553457937).

Research Interests: His work bridges theoretical and empirical analyses of global economic systems, particularly addressing volatility in commodity prices and their macroeconomic implications. Methodologically, he employs advanced time-series techniques to study dynamic interactions in international financial markets.

Funding & Projects: As Principal Investigator, he manages a DFG grant exploring the systemic risks posed by global food commodity price fluctuations. This research integrates macroeconomic modeling with empirical market analysis to inform policy recommendations.
