Sean Taitt

Sean Taitt serves as Administrative Professor and Director of Field Education for the BSW Program at Pacific Oaks College's Department of Social Work, with campuses in Pasadena and online instruction sites. Bringing over 12 years of experience from the University of Southern California where he co-created literacy-based initiatives and community programs, he oversees practical training components connecting classroom learning with real-world social work practice.

His educational background includes:

Mr. Taitt's research focuses on vulnerable populations, particularly examining technology access among homeless youth. His professional expertise spans Child & Adolescent Development, Mental Health, Curriculum Development, Diversity, Early Childhood Education, and Social Justice. He combines academic knowledge with practical field experience as an American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Instructor and facilitator of USC's Community Immersion program.

His scholarly work centers on leveraging technology for social interventions, exemplified by his 2011 publication analyzing cell phone use among homeless youth and its implications for health services. This research reflects his broader commitment to developing innovative approaches for serving marginalized communities through accessible technology.

As Director of Field Education, Mr. Taitt utilizes his extensive professional skills in K-16 Education, Community Engagement, Program Development, Youth Development, and Grant Writing. His community involvement includes supporting USC Kinder2College and facilitating USC School of Social Work programs, demonstrating his dedication to bridging academic training with practical community impact.
