Sean TAKATS

Sean Takats serves as Full Professor and Chief Scientist 1 in Digital History at the University of Luxembourg's Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH). Based at the Maison Sciences Humaines in Esch-sur-Alzette, he leads research at the intersection of historical scholarship and digital methodologies within this specialized research center.

His scholarly focus centers on Digital History—applying computational tools to historical analysis—Historiography—studying how historical narratives evolve—and Contemporary History—particularly Luxembourg's modern development. This triad forms a cohesive framework where digital techniques interrogate historical writing practices and recent European historical trajectories.

As a core member of the C²DH, Professor Takats contributes to the center's mission of advancing innovative historical research through digital infrastructure development and interdisciplinary collaboration. The center operates as a university-wide research entity rather than a conventional departmental unit, facilitating cross-faculty projects in contemporary historical studies.
