Sean Orenstein

Sean Orenstein is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he joined the Division of Gastrointestinal and General Surgery in 2014. He serves as director of OHSU's Hernia and Abdominal Wall Center, specializing in hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction during tumor surgery.

His recent work demonstrates a strong emphasis on telemedicine applications in hernia care, patient-centered outcomes, and innovative surgical techniques for complex abdominal wall reconstruction.

Dr. Orenstein maintains active membership in several professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons (ACS), Americas Hernia Society (AHS), Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and Association for Academic Surgery (AAS).

His clinical work encompasses hernia repair, abdominal wall reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and general surgery. Dr. Orenstein particularly focuses on complex cases including parastomal hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction following tumor removal.
