Sean Ettinger

Sean Ettinger is an Academic Program Coordinator in the Department of Latina/Latino Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds a Ph.D. in History (2023) and an M.A. in History (2018) from UIUC, along with dual B.A. degrees in History and English from Indiana University (2014).

Ettinger has served as Instructor of Record for courses such as Mexican American History (LLS/HIST 279) and Race, Ethnicity, and U.S. Cities (HIST 498). He has also held teaching assistant roles for foundational U.S. history courses. His academic work bridges historical scholarship with contemporary issues in ethnicity and urban studies.
