Sean Crotty is Associate Professor of Geography at Texas Christian University's AddRan College of Liberal Arts. He holds a BS in International Economics from TCU, an MA in Geography from San Diego State University, and a PhD in Geography from San Diego State University and the University of California at Santa Barbara. His research explores urban economic systems, labor geographies, spatial analysis, and informal economies.
Crotty teaches courses including World Regional Geography, Economic Geography, Digital Cartography, Geographic Information Systems, and specialized courses on the Geography of Beer and Wine. His publications investigate the spatial organization of informal economies, day-labor markets, illicit businesses, and health geography.
Current research examines locational strategies of illicit massage businesses, spatial stigma effects, and geospatial typologies of informal economies in metropolitan areas.
