Scott Wordley

Scott Wordley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at Monash University. He serves as Director of Student Teams and Clubs, overseeing the M+AE Student Workshops, Monash Makerspace, and Design + Build Studios. His research spans Automotive Aerodynamics, Turbulence, and Computational Fluid Dynamics, with recent focus on Engineering Education innovations like flipped classrooms and peer evaluation. He teaches courses in design methods and advises student teams like Monash Motorsport and BrewLab.

Education: PhD (Monash University, 2009), Master of Science (Monash, 2004), Bachelor of Engineering (Monash, 2001), plus certifications in CNC machining, composites, and fabrication.

Research interests include: Active Aerodynamics, Formula SAE vehicles, and pedagogical strategies for active learning. He has led projects on electric vehicle powertrains and plastic pollution education through STEM.

Awards include the AAEE Engagement Award (2019) and Vice-Chancellor's Citation (2015). Collaborations span industry and academic partners in engineering education and automotive technology.
