Scott Winfield Sublett is a Professor in the Department of Film and Theatre at San José State University, teaching screenwriting, playwriting, and film studies. He holds an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA and BS from Northwestern University. His creative work includes directing Bye-Bye Bin Laden (Best Feature, South Beach Animation Festival) and authoring Screenwriting for Neurotics (University of Iowa Press).
Research interests: Dramatic structure, comedy principles, and film production. Current project: Book on comedy in dramatic writing.
Professional credits: Produced films include All About Dad (Top 10 Asian American films 2009) and Glory Boy Days (Slamdance premiere). Co-author of The Mama Dragon Monologues addressing LGBTQ issues in religious communities.
