Scott Robson

Scott Robson is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator in the Department of Communication Studies at Fort Hays State University (FHSU). He holds a PhD from the University of Kansas (2006), an MA from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (2001), and a BS from the same institution (1999). His career includes roles as Assistant Professor (2007–2014), Interim Department Chair (2008–2009), and Department Chair (2009–2014). He currently leads the Graduate Council Academic Affairs Subcommittee and serves on the Tiger Media Network Board.

Dr. Robson’s research focuses on communication methodologies, interpersonal dynamics, organizational behavior, and cultural analysis. His courses include Communication Research Methods, Conflict Management, and seminars on gender and pop culture (e.g., Star Wars). He has received accolades for teaching and advising, including the 2013 Edmund Shearer Advisor of the Year Award.

He previously worked in banking as a purchasing agent and transitioned to academia after pursuing speech communication. His service roles include Graduate Council membership and leadership in university committees.
