About
Scott Robbins is a faculty member at the Petrie School of Music, Converse College, where he teaches composition and music theory. He joined the faculty in 1998 and served as chair of the Department of Musicology and Composition from 1999 to 2005. In 2005, he became the first music school faculty to receive Converse College’s O’Herron Faculty Excellence Award.

His compositions have received over 50 awards, including the Clefworks Composition Competition and ASCAP Foundation Grants. Robbins’ works have been performed by ensembles like the Czech Radio Symphony and Warsaw National Philharmonic, with commercial recordings featured on HBO and Bravo. His film soundtrack for The Clearing earned a CINE-Eagle award, and Spooky Does the Bunny-Hop will appear in ERM Media’s Masterworks of the New Era series.
