Scott McCrea is a Lecturer of Acting at Purchase College State University of New York. A playwright, producer, and actor, he has extensive experience in theatre and media. He holds a BA from Duke University and an MFA from Columbia University.
His work includes original plays such as Past Grand Knight, Aunt Melodious, and Safe House, which have been produced by institutions like the McCarter Theatre and Alleyway Theatre. McCrea has also translated Molière’s Scapin, Chekhov’s one-acts, and Regnard’s Le Joueur. His scholarly book The Case for Shakespeare (2005) earned a prestigious academic award.
