Scott MacKenzie is a Full Professor and Department Head of Film and Media at Queen’s University, Canada. He holds cross-appointments in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures and Cultural Studies at the School of Graduate Studies. His research focuses on Arctic cinemas, film manifestos, and experimental media, with notable contributions to critical Arctic studies and global cinema cultures. MacKenzie earned his PhD in Communications from McGill University and has held post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Glasgow. He has authored/co-edited over 20 books, including *Films on Ice: Cinemas of the Arctic* and *New Arctic Cinemas: Media Sovereignty and the Climate Crisis*. His work bridges film theory, environmental humanities, and Indigenous media sovereignty, emphasizing the role of cinema in addressing geopolitical and ecological challenges.
