Scott Larson is a Lecturer IV and Undergraduate Advisor in the Department of American Culture at the University of Michigan. He holds a Ph.D. in American Studies from George Washington University (2017) and a M.A. from Yale Divinity School. His research focuses on transgender history, early American culture, and the intersections of radical religious experience with gender, sexuality, disability, and racial formations.
His work has been published in the Journal of Early American Studies and Transgender Studies Quarterly, among other edited volumes. Larson’s current book project examines how 18th-century Atlantic religious movements reshaped cultural and social identities. He also contributes to Arab and Muslim American Studies and institutional administrative roles.
