Scott Knight

Mr Scott Knight is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Society & Design at Bond University, specializing in film, television, and video game studies. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Master of Film and Television, and PhD from Bond University. His research focuses on fan cultures, censorship, and video game history, with a PhD exploring film-to-game adaptation models. He previously served as programmer of the Brisbane International Film Festival (1993–2012).

Teaching expertise includes film aesthetics, game culture, and screen adaptation. Courses taught: Screen Style and Storytelling, Videogame Industry & Culture, and Videogames as Creative Media. Research outputs span video game franchises (e.g., Wing Commander), constructivist learning via Minecraft, and narrative structures in games.

Advising includes supervision of a doctoral thesis on film-to-game adaptation. No scientific awards are listed. Active in interdisciplinary research bridging media studies and digital culture.
