Scott Hancock is an Associate Professor of History and Africana Studies at Gettysburg College, where he has been teaching since 2001. His research focuses on the African American experience from the mid-seventeenth century through the Civil War, examining interactions with the legal system and incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives like law & society and geography.
