Scott Gabriel Knowles

Scott Gabriel Knowles is an Associate Professor and Interim Head of the Department of History at Drexel University. He is also a Research Fellow at the University of Delaware's Disaster Research Center. His scholarly work focuses on the history of risk and disaster, with a notable monograph The Disaster Experts: Mastering Risk in Modern America (2011) and a co-edited book series Critical Studies in Risk and Disaster (University of Pennsylvania Press) with Kim Fortun.

Knowles' research has been published in journals such as Natural Hazards Observer, Journal of Policy History, Technology and Culture, and Engineering Studies. He also contributes to popular media outlets like Slate, Conservation Magazine, and The Hill.
