Scott Gabriel Knowles is an Associate Professor and Interim Head of the Department of History at Drexel University. He is also a Research Fellow at the University of Delaware's Disaster Research Center. His scholarly work focuses on the history of risk and disaster, with a notable monograph The Disaster Experts: Mastering Risk in Modern America (2011) and a co-edited book series Critical Studies in Risk and Disaster (University of Pennsylvania Press) with Kim Fortun.
