Scott Buchalter

Scott Buchalter is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pulmonary, Allergy, & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Medicine. He holds dual appointments as a Scholar in the Office of the Provost and serves as Chief, Quality, Planning and Strategy for UAB Health System. His career spans over four decades, including roles as Vice President of Chief Strategy and Quality Officer at UAB Hospital and co-director of the Pulmonary Division. He completed his medical training at UAB, including residency and pulmonary fellowship. His expertise focuses on healthcare quality improvement, critical care medicine, and medical education.
