Scott Border

Professor Scott Border is a Professor in Anatomy at the University of Glasgow, specializing in innovative approaches to anatomy education. He serves as Chair of the Education Committee for the Anatomical Society and is a Fellow of the Society. Border is also currently an external examiner at Oxford University and has previously served as an external examiner at St. George's for their MBBS program.

His educational leadership includes founding and directing several significant initiatives:

His research has provided empirical evidence on various aspects of near-peer teaching, including benefits to student teachers, optimal educational distance between teacher and learner, curriculum placement, cognitive and social congruence in teaching dynamics, and impact on knowledge retention.

His scholarly work has significantly contributed to understanding how to optimize anatomy education through evidence-based practices, with particular emphasis on neuroanatomy education and the implementation of sustainable near-peer teaching programs.

His leadership extends to his role as an assessor for the Anatomical Society's Anatomy Training Programme (ATP), which trains future anatomy educators in the US and UK.
