Dr. Scott Boegeman is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Dallas, where he has been since 2000. He teaches Biochemistry and General Chemistry, alongside Environmental Chemistry and other specialized courses. His research focuses on protein-lipid interactions, particularly the enzymatic regulation of lipid metabolism, including phospholipase D and A2 activities.
Dr. Boegeman holds a B.S. from Harvey Mudd College, an M.S. from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego. Before joining UD, he taught at the University of Puget Sound, Harvey Mudd College, and Eckerd College.
His research explores lipid metabolic pathways and enzyme mechanisms, with recent work published in Biochemistry and Organometallics. He co-advises the University of Dallas Chapter of the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, fostering student engagement in chemical sciences.
Dr. Boegeman’s teaching spans foundational to advanced chemistry topics, reflecting his expertise in biochemical systems and lipid interactions. His lab investigations aim to elucidate enzyme-lipid dynamics with implications for biomedical research.
