Scott Andes is a Professor of Practice at the Heinz College and Senior Strategic Advisor for Economic Development at Carnegie Mellon University. He previously served in the Biden-Harris Administration, leading major initiatives such as the $1 billion Build Back Better Regional Challenge and the Distressed Areas Recompete Program. He has extensive experience in policy advising, economic development, and innovation ecosystems.
Education: Scott holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and the London School of Economics.
Research interests focus on regional innovation systems, economic growth strategies, and the intersection of technology with public policy.
