Schintke Silvia

Silvia Schintke is a Professor of Nano- and Materials Engineering at the HES-SO University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland, leading the Laboratory of Applied NanoSciences (COMATEC-LANS) and the Industrial Systems Engineering program. She holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Lausanne and has extensive experience in micro- and nanotechnology education, having led multiple European Leonardo da Vinci projects (e.g., NanoSkills, ComEd, SOLID) to enhance vocational training in these fields.

Research Interests: Focuses on nanocomposites, functional materials, and their applications in fields like food packaging (via electrospun nanofibers) and biomedical electrodes. Her work integrates materials science with electrophysiology for innovations like conductive hydrogels and flexible electronics.

• SIENA: Leads materials design for agricultural electrophysiology networks (innosuisse-funded)
• PRONANO: HES-SO grant for nano-technology applications
• MACAFLEX: Interreg France-Switzerland collaboration on composite materials
