Satnam Baley

Satnam Baley is a Senior Lecturer at Newman University, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts, Society and Professional Studies. A qualified solicitor with experience in criminal law and employment law, he integrates legal practice expertise into academia. He holds an LLM in International Law and Human Rights, an LLB Hons, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PgCert HE), granting him fellowship with the Higher Education Academy.

His research focuses on criminal law's international dimensions, interactions between international/domestic employment law, and legal regulation of AI/emergent technologies. He leads the Law LLB (Hons) and Law with Legal Practice LLB (Hons) programmes, teaching modules including Criminal Law, Employment Law, Law of Business Organisations, and AI/Emergent Technologies Law.

Administratively, he manages both law degree programmes daily. Professional memberships include the Law Society of England and Wales and the Higher Education Academy.
