Satheesh Krishnamurthy is a Professor and Director of the Surrey Ion Beam Centre at the University of Surrey, part of the Advanced Technology Institute. His research focuses on functionalizing advanced nanomaterials for applications in alternative energy, multifunctional nanocomposites, and environmental sustainability. He leads the UK National Ion Beam Centre, which specializes in interdisciplinary research using ion implantation, irradiation, and analysis for fields ranging from 2D materials to biomedical applications.
Key research projects include the 'Waste2fresh' initiative addressing water-intensive textile manufacturing and collaborations with institutions like the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. He holds prestigious awards such as Fellowships from the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM).
