Saskia Kohnen is an Associate Professor at Macquarie University's School of Psychological Sciences, holding an Honorary Professor title. She is affiliated with the Centre for Reading and Centre for Atypical Neurodevelopment. Her research focuses on reading development, neurodevelopmental disorders, and pediatric language impairments. She leads major projects such as the Macquarie University Centre for Reading Bequest and the Live-streaming Interventions for Children's Literacy initiative.
Her work spans child language disorders, dyslexia comorbidity, and cognitive outcomes post-cerebellar surgery. Recent studies address anxiety in reading-impaired children and longitudinal trajectories of mathematical learning difficulties.
