Sasha Fleary is Associate Professor and founder of the Child Health Equity Research Lab at CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy. Her mixed-methods research focuses on health promotion for children, adolescents, and parents through culturally-responsive interventions addressing health disparities. Current NIH-funded research examines health literacy's role in chronic disease prevention and community health organization.
Research explores mental health literacy, public libraries as health promotion spaces, and racial/ethnic health disparities. She chairs the Child and Family Health Literacy Special Interest Group and serves as Treasurer of the International Health Literacy Association. Publications appear in Annals of Behavioral Medicine, American Journal of Health Behavior, and BMC Public Health.
