Dr. Sarmin Hossain is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Education at Brunel University, within the College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences. She leads the MA Education (including all Routes) Programme and the STEM Specialist Pathway. Her work focuses on STEM education, technology adoption in teaching, and mathematics teacher training.

Her research spans three key STEM areas: educational technology (ICT/Computing), engineering education, and mathematics education. Recent projects include the pan-European MenSI initiative exploring mentoring for ICT-based teaching practices.
Dr. Hossain's publications highlight trends in simulation modeling, mathematics teacher education, and cross-cultural IT adoption studies. Her work has been funded by the Nuffield Foundation, Royal Academy of Engineering, and European Schoolnet (EUN).
