Sarma Cakula

Dr. Sarma Cakula is a Professor of Information Technologies in the Faculty of Engineering at Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences (Latvia), where she has worked since 1996. She additionally serves as Leading Researcher at the university's Sociotechnical Systems Engineering Institute. Previously, she led the Faculty of Engineering as Dean for 13 years and played a foundational role in developing the faculty.

Education:

• Ph.D. (2002)
• Graduated with excellence in Physics and Mathematics from Latvia University (1984)

Her research focuses on Information Technology and Pedagogy, with particular emphasis on educational technology applications and sociotechnical systems. She has authored over 50 scientific publications since 2001 exploring these interdisciplinary domains.
