Dr Sarah Vickers is a Research Fellow in Mass Spectrometry at the School of Biosciences, University of Birmingham. She joined the Cooper Group in 2024, focusing on advanced mass spectrometry techniques for cancer research.
- Education: PhD in Structural Mass Spectrometry (2024, University College London); MChem in Chemistry (2020, University of Manchester)
Research interests include in-situ mass spectrometry methods (LESA, nano-DESI) for studying tumor structures and cancer therapeutics, as well as ion mobility mass spectrometry to characterize protein misfolding (e.g., alpha 1 antitrypsin in liver/lung diseases).
Appointments: Current position at University of Birmingham (since 2024); previous PhD work at University College London.
