Dr. Sarah Vaughan is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Chester's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She chairs the Pain, Trauma, & Safeguarding Special Interest Group and specializes in pain perception mechanisms, particularly in autism spectrum disorders and psychiatric conditions.
Her research employs quantitative sensory testing to examine atypical pain responses in neurodevelopmental disorders. Current projects investigate safeguarding data analysis and trauma-pain interactions across diverse populations.
Dr. Vaughan teaches research methods and brain-behavior relationships, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research. She develops community partnerships to address real-world mental health challenges through applied psychology research.
