Sarah Shaw

Sarah Shaw is Deputy Head of Division and Senior Lecturer in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at the University of Chester's School of Education. With 17 years of experience in mainstream secondary education, she specializes in inclusive approaches to teaching, particularly for students with additional needs.

Her research focuses on:

• Neurodiversity and inclusive practices
• Trauma-informed approaches to education
• Person-centred planning methodologies
• Amplifying children's voices in educational settings

Sarah teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, covering topics such as creative pedagogy, supporting learners with complex needs, and statutory frameworks for SEND. She is currently pursuing a Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.
