Sarah Salih is a Reader in English at King's College London, specializing in 15th-century English literature and culture with emphases on gender, sexuality, devotional practices, and intersections between literary and visual culture. She has supervised 23 PhD students to completion.
Her research examines medieval subjectivity, performance traditions, and contemporary engagements with medieval texts. Dr. Salih has curated exhibitions on medievalist visions and contributes to public discourse on medieval women writers including Margery Kempe and Julian of Norwich.
Recent publications explore race and gender in cultural history, theatrical representations of solitude, and connections between medieval mysticism and contemporary performance art. She received the Supervisory Excellence Award in 2020 for doctoral mentorship.
