Sarah Ridge

Sarah Ridge is an Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy in the College of Education, Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Hartford. She holds a PhD and MS in Biomechanics and Movement Science from the University of Delaware, as well as a BS in Exercise Science from Skidmore College. Her primary teaching responsibilities include Biomechanics and research methodology in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Dr. Ridge specializes in biomechanics, with a focus on lower extremity movement during dynamic activities like walking, running, jumping, and landing. Her research employs 2D/3D motion analysis, force plates, and inertial measurement units (IMUs) to investigate foot mechanics, foot muscle function, footwear impacts on movement, and IMU-based quantification of athletic activity.
