Sarah Riddick is an Associate Professor of Professional Communication in the Department of Humanities & Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). She holds a PhD in English (Rhetoric and Writing) from the University of Texas at Austin, an MA in Comparative Literature from University College London, and dual BA degrees in English and Spanish from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research focuses on digital rhetorics, popular culture, and rhetorical methodologies, with particular emphasis on social media, environmental communication, and technical writing.
Dr. Riddick's work has been published in journals such as Rhetoric Review, Media & Communication, and Computers and Composition. She has received the Gerard A. Hauser Award from the Rhetoric Society of America (2018). Her teaching and scholarship emphasize innovative pedagogical approaches to writing studies and the intersection of technology with rhetorical practices.
Her research interests span digital publics, audience studies, writing program administration, and the rhetorical analysis of social movements. She has collaborated on projects exploring climate fiction, Twitch livestream dynamics, and the methodological challenges of longitudinal social media research.
