Sarah Pink is a Laureate Professor and Director of the FUTURES Hub and Emerging Technologies Research Lab at Monash University, with a joint appointment in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture and the Faculty of Information Technology. She holds Honorary Doctorates from Malmö and Halmstad Universities. Her research focuses on design anthropology, emerging technologies, and futures studies, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to digital and net zero transitions.
Education: PhD in Social Anthropology (University of Kent), MA in Visual Anthropology (University of Manchester), and 1st class BA Hons in Social Anthropology (University of Kent).
Research interests include innovative ethnography, automated decision-making, and future mobilities/health/energy. She leads projects like 'Scenarios for Future Living' and 'AI for Clean Energy and Sustainability', funded by national and international bodies.
Key achievements include awards such as the Australian Research Council Laureate Professorship and Good Design Awards for her work on smart cities and senior living. She consults on technology's social and cultural dimensions and collaborates globally.
