Professor Sarah Perrett is the Associate Director of The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion and a Visiting Professor at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where she has led research since 2003. She divides her time between Beijing and Cambridge, maintaining dual affiliations. She studied Natural Sciences (Chemistry) at the University of Cambridge and earned her PhD in Protein Chemistry in 1997 under Prof. Sir Alan Fersht FRS. Her research focuses on protein folding mechanisms, amyloid formation, and prion propagation, with over 100 publications and editorial roles at Essays in Biochemistry.
