Sarah Parsons

Sarah Parsons is a Senior Lecturer in the Engineering department at Harper Adams University. Her roles include teaching core mathematics and mechanical science modules across undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes. She has served on the Extended Programmes Course Committee and previously as Course Tutor for the Extended Foundation Degree Programme (2014-2021).

• BSc (Hons), PGCE, PhD in Mathematics Education (Loughborough University, part-time, completed 2014)

Her research focuses on undergraduate mathematics/statistics learning and promoting women in STEM. She provides extensive mathematics support through weekly classes and individual/small group sessions for engineering students. Professional memberships include Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Chartered Mathematician (CMath), and affiliations with the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (FIMA), Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), and Institution of Agricultural Engineering (MIAgrE).

Notable recognitions include dual Student Voice Award nominations in 2022 for teaching excellence and assessment/feedback leadership. She maintains active involvement in curriculum development and student support initiatives within engineering education.
