Sarah Nouwen

Sarah Nouwen is Professor of Public International Law at the European University Institute and Co-Director of its Academy of European Law. Her research examines tensions between justice and peace in international law, transitional justice mechanisms, and the politics of international lawmaking.

She supervises doctoral projects on vulnerability in human rights law, corporate accountability, African Union justice architectures, and critical international law histories. As Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of International Law, she shapes scholarly discourse on global legal frameworks.
