Sarah Nickolich

Sarah Nickolich, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Penn State College of Medicine. She serves as course co-director for the Foundations of Patient-Centered Care for MD students. Her academic background includes a Residency at the University of North Carolina (2013-2016) and an MD from Case Western Reserve University (2009-2013).

Her research focuses on infectious disease management, antibiotic therapy optimization, and public health interventions. Notable contributions include studies on Clostridioides difficile infection management and colorectal cancer screening innovations. She actively engages in medical education, having received the Academy of Educators Award for Teaching Excellence (2016) and Carolina Care Excellence Award (2017).

In 2023, she was part of a large group honored with the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching. Her 2019 activity involved presenting on designing a Social Determinants of Health Curriculum through interprofessional education partnerships.
