About
Sarah Marit Lein is a Full Professor of Macroeconomics at the University of Basel, researching monetary economics and international macroeconomics. Her work examines firm-level heterogeneity in inflation dynamics, exchange rate impacts on pricing, and inflation expectation formation.
Lein is a CEPR Research Fellow and serves on advisory committees for the CEBRA Inflation Drivers Program. She directs academic governance roles including the pension fund BLPK investment committee.
Her methodological approach combines theoretical modeling with empirical analysis of price-setting behavior. Current projects investigate currency invoicing effects and expectation transmission mechanisms in macroeconomic systems.
