Sarah MacDonald

Sarah MacDonald is a respected academic and musician affiliated with multiple institutions. She serves as a flute instructor at the University of Lethbridge since 2008 and as a woodwind facilitator at Mount Royal University's Academy at APP program (2022). She also teaches at MusiCamp Alberta (Red Deer Polytechnic) and maintains a private studio in Calgary.

Education: BMus from the University of Calgary, MMus from the Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester, England), and an Artist Diploma from the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati.

Research interests focus on flute performance, music pedagogy, and promoting wellness in the music industry. She co-founded Green Banana Flute Studios with Sara Hahn-Scinocco to address these themes. Her artistic achievements include a Juno nomination for the 2020 album 'Sea Dreams' and solo performances with ensembles like the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
