Sarah Levin-Richardson is Associate Professor of Classics and Adjunct in Art History at the University of Washington. She holds a Ph.D. in Classical Archaeology from Stanford University and a B.A. from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Her research examines Roman material culture through feminist and queer theory lenses, focusing on marginalized groups. Her 2019 book 'The Brothel of Pompeii' reconstructed social dynamics in ancient Roman brothels. Current work investigates enslaved people's emotional lives in Roman Italy through innovative methodological approaches.
