Dr. Sarah Lechago is an Associate Professor in the Behavior Analysis master’s program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL). She directs the UHCL Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities (CADD) Verbal Behavior Clinic and its Telehealth branch (VBC-T), and co-directs the UHCL Connecting the Dots (CTD) program. She serves on editorial boards for The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, Behavior Analysis: Research and Practice, and Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, and previously chaired the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA).
Her research focuses on translational/applied verbal behavior studies, motivational factors, diversity inclusion strategies, and training programs for caregivers and staff. Dr. Lechago has secured over $1 million in research funding and holds prestigious awards including the 2019-2020 President’s Faculty Fellowship and dual 2018 ABAI awards for clinical excellence and research.
Professional contributions include guest reviewing for multiple journals and leadership roles in behavior analysis organizations. Her work bridges theoretical research with practical clinical applications in developmental disabilities.
