Dr. Sarah Koon-Magnin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Social Work and Anthropology at Christopher Newport University (CNU), where she joined in 2024. Previously, she served at the University of South Alabama (2011-2024), earning awards for teaching, academic service, and humanitarian work. Her expertise lies in examining sexual assault response mechanisms, victimology, and the intersection of gender, race, and institutional policies.
Dr. Koon-Magnin holds a Ph.D. and MA in Crime, Law, and Justice from Penn State University, and a BA in Sociology/Religious Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
