Dr. Sarah Koellner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Comparative and Thought at Washington University, where she teaches German language and culture courses, Global Studies, and the Interdisciplinary Project in the Humanities. She holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University and focuses her research on 20th-21st Century German literature, media, and culture through the lenses of surveillance and migration studies.
Her research examines the interplay between aesthetics and politics in contemporary German cultural expressions, exploring themes of identity, community, transculturalism, and artistic creation in the digital age. She has published in journals including Seminar, Gegenwartsliteratur, and Surveillance & Society.
