Sarah Katula

Sarah Katula, Ph.D., APRN, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at Elmhurst University. With 25 years of experience as a clinical nurse specialist in psychiatry, her work focuses on children and adolescents, eating disorders, and adult mental health. She is passionate about women’s issues, particularly addressing intimate partner violence and empowering women and girls. Dr. Katula holds memberships with Sigma Theta Tau, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, Phi Beta Delta, and the International Leadership Institute.

She recently received the IBHE Nurse Educator Fellowship Award, recognizing her contributions to nursing education. Her professional background combines clinical expertise with academic leadership, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to mental health and gender-related challenges.
