Sarah J. Corcoran

Sarah J. Corcoran, OTD, OTR/L, serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy at Saint Joseph’s University, operating within the College of Arts and Sciences Interdisciplinary Program with additional affiliations to the School of Health Professions. With foundational clinical experience spanning hospital and home health settings, she transitioned into healthcare quality improvement before joining academia. Her educational background includes an OTD from Chatham University and a BS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Scranton.

Her scholarship focuses on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in occupational therapy practice, leadership development, ethics education, and healthcare systems optimization. She actively integrates these themes into curricular design and teaches courses on professional identity formation. As a member of the Antiracist Pedagogy Across the Curriculum Community of Practice and AOTA’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Community of Practice, she champions institutional DEIB initiatives.
