About
Sarah Forrester is a Lecturer in the Department of Biology at the University of York. Her teaching focuses on creating an inclusive environment where students develop data analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in biological contexts. She combines lectures with workshop-style sessions to demystify coding and statistics through hands-on learning.
Her research explores microbial interactions in anaerobic digestion (AD), a process that breaks down organic waste using microorganisms to generate green energy and fertilizers. Using bioinformatics and sequencing data, she investigates the functional dynamics of complex microbial communities in AD systems.
