Sarah Felknor

Sarah Felknor is a Professor and Director of the Southwest Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (SWCOEH) at UTHealth Houston School of Public Health. With over 35 years of experience in occupational safety and health (OSH) research, training, and service, she has held leadership roles at both academic institutions and the CDC/NIOSH.

• Focuses on anticipating future occupational health challenges through futures-oriented planning
• Developed injury prevention programs for healthcare and petrochemical industries in the U.S. and Latin America

Her work has earned recognition including the NIH Director’s Award for global research training. She currently leads SWCOEH’s initiatives while maintaining faculty appointments in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences.
